Takes us through her bold and beautiful Harpers Bazaar Arabia shoot!
Can you tell us about the chosen look? What was the inspiration for it?
I wanted to explore colours and textures using the boldest brightest hues to compliment each other. The inspiration was literally colours exploding and clashing with each other.
What products did you use to create the look?
I used predominant Makeup Forever products, mainly grease paints, loose pigment shadows and of course gloss.
Any tips for anyone at home wanting to recreate a similar look?
Have fun with it , and it doesn’t have to be perfect, a perfectly blended eye or lip was definitely not the aesthetic I was trying to create on this shoot.
What would you say your signature beauty look is?
I always struggle with this question as an Artist, because it can always depend on the mood and the face, I always like to adopt an element of the subjects personality in my work, I love a clean skin, a bit of texture in form of a gloss, and a pop of color.
I like that Dr.Lipp does what it says, it's multi use and 100% natural!
Here at Dr.Lipp, we make multi-use skincare solutions to keep life simple and reduce our carbon footprint – do you think it’s important to streamline your beauty kit?
I absolutely love multi use products, especially too now that there is SO much choice on the beauty front which can be really overwhelming and not to mention heavy in a Makeup Kit. I also think it is super important to be conscious about what we are using and our general consumption on a daily basis , so if it is Multi use it goes straight in the kit for me as well as my personal makeup bag.
What would you be doing if you were not a makeup artist?
I weirdly think I would be a Psychologist (It kind of feels that way at times with people in the makeup chair) or maybe a lawyer? Haha
What items should everyone have in their kit?
This is the toughest question as once again there is so much product required for our jobs but a good lip balm is always a good idea 😉
Who is your dream client?
My dream client is one that likes to be experimental and feels comfortable to push the limits with their beauty.
Do you have any career highlights so far?
Working on the Tom Ford fashion show was pretty special for me, oh and doing Paris Hilton’s makeup was pretty damn cool too!
What is a day in the life like for you?
Thankfully I don’t have a typical day, as I get bored of routine super easily. However it generally is me lugging a kit about to whatever job I am on that day and doing what I love, yes it is still work but I am pretty lucky to call it work in the scheme of things. I also love being around creative people and people in general and bouncing off each other and just not taking ourselves too seriously.
What is the best piece of beauty advice you ever received and what is the best piece you could give?
Super cliché, but be yourself, and perfection is not the goal. I think we get so caught up in filtering our lives to what it “should” look like and that transcends through to beauty, but the truth of it is being individual and having your own edge will always win over any kind of cookie cutter version.
What do you like about Dr.Lipp?
I like that it does what it says, it’s multi use and natural
What are your favourite uses for your fave Dr.Lipp product?
Eyes, Lips and cheeks. Love a glossy eye and cheek bone and the fact there is tint in the newer versions too is an added bonus.
