Katy Jane

Can you tell us about the chosen look?

This chosen look is a look I created for Cable Magazine.

What products did you use to create the look?

I used a few of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Blusher Duos, Inglot Pastel Shadows and Norvinia Volume 2 Eye shadow palette. I often use blushers for shadows and shadows for blushers. I think its always important to remember that you can use any product anywhere. This I find really opens up doors to be even more creative.

Any tips for anyone at home wanting to recreate a similar style?

I would say don’t over think it. Focus on the brows, move down to the eyes and finish with the skin and allow the colors and makeup just to flow.

What would you say your signature beauty look is?

I like to think my signature is liner and creating interesting shapes.

Here at Dr.Lipp, we make multi-use skincare solutions to keep life simple and reduce our carbon footprint – do you think it’s important to streamline your beauty kit?

Of course. I think its incredibly important to reduce your carbon footprint but also to avoid having an unnecessarily heavy and large kit. No one needs that ha.

"I firstly love the packaging (the original) as I think it look chic and professional in your kit. I also love the formula, its incredible on those clients who have super dry lips and also a little goes a long way"

What would you be doing if you were not a makeup artist?

Love this question. I get asked the whole time. I would have loved to have been a beauty Editor however if I had to something completely different,  I would say to have a farm and have a petting zoo for children who could come and visit. I love being in the country and obsessed with animals.

What items should everyone have in their kit?

Tweezers and Soap Brow.

Who is your dream client?

Julia Roberts or Rita Ora because her makeup is super creative.

Do you have any career highlights so far?

I would say touring with Christina Perri on her Europe Tour

What is a day in the life like for you?

Pre Covid I would say I usually get up early as I hate to rush and hate even more being late. I would usually head to a studio for 9pm but like to arrive 20 mins early to set up. Usually shoot for up to 8 hours (12 if unlucky). Then would usually either head to the gym or go for drinks with friends.

What is the best piece of beauty advice you ever received and what is the best piece you could give?

Never touch your brows. The best I could give is a good skincare routine from an early age does make a HUGE difference on the way your skin looks and feels in the long run.

What is your fave Dr.Lipp product?

The Original Nipple Balm. My forever favorite and a must have in your kit.
